Welcome to Royston Animal Welfare
1997 - 2017  Celebrating 20 years of helping animals
Registered charity no. 1064870

Our main aim is pet rescue; helping cats and dogs in need from Barnsley, the surrounding South Yorkshire area and beyond and then finding them loving new homes.  We rehome UK wide.

Thank you for looking on our site and we hope you will find a new pet that will enhance your life.

If you would like to make a contribution to helping our animals please

donate below.

We are 100% funded by donations/fundraising and are run totally by volunteers.

🐕🐶We have been closed due to Covid 19

However, we are now very slowly beginning to rehome again.

We have received advice that rehoming can commence as long as strict guidelines are in place.

The vets we use are now vaccinating and also doing a few neuters where possible. But again strict

social distancing guidelines must be followed.

* We are closed to visitors. .Sadly this means that you cannot come and meet the cats or dogs prior to adoption. We can, however, send photos, descriptions and videos.

Cats & dogs will be listed for homing as usual on Facebook and our website

*Reserves can be taken. The length of the reserve to be determined individually.

* Home checks will be carried out via photos and videos. We may ask for a reference from your vet. We reserve the right to do a follow up home check once restrictions are lifted.

* Adopted cat & dogs must be transported to their new home by an authorised volunteer/ coordinator. Homes at this time must be no more than an hour away by car.)

* Handovers must be done outside your property. Social distancing of 2 metres between people must be strictly observed.

* Payments must be made if possible by bank transfer before transport takes place.

* Please note. We are asked not to make unnecessary journeys. We have thought hard about beginning to rehome as on one hand, we think getting a new pet isn't that necessary. But on the other hand, if we don't rehome, then we can't take in anymore more animals that really need our help will suffer.🐕🐈

The success of Royston Animal Welfare depends on our whole team of volunteers who give their time

with no reward, other than being safe in the knowledge that they have helped to give an animal a better life.

We are able to rescue the animals you will see on our website thanks to all the people who fundraise at gala's, car boots, tin rattles etc. But it does not stop there! We have a RAW army that does the many vet runs, dog walks, animal fostering, telephone messages, accounts, newsletters etc etc.

We would also like to thank the general public that donates (see below) and companies that sponsor RAW.

Not all charities are registered (always look for a charity number).

We are, so all information about our funds and how we spend them is available for the public to view on the Charity Commission website.

Registered charity no. 1064870

All animals who come into our care stay with us, safe and secure until a home can be found for them regardless of how long this takes.

We desperately need funds & volunteers to continue to help more animals in need.
